Doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for an image is easy when compared to web search results. The reason is, if you do the following four steps your image will rank high in google.

1. File Name of the image

2. The text that immediately follows the image

3. Alt text of the image.

4. Title attribute of the image.

This method works very well in google and other search engines. Considering the image file name is very important factor, where many other good sites (even the author sites) do not care about the image file name.This in turn can get you lot of traffic and many people may hot link your site. You may think hot linking steals the bandwidth, yes it steals the bandwidth, but you will get a link from a site. And also taking the size of the image into consideration, the bandwidth loss will be very small when you compare to page rank.
